The Challenge
Ebor Mortgages wanted a website that matched where the business is now. The old site felt dated and did not show the quality of service they are known for in York. The brief was to refresh the look and feel, add short video for a bit of life, make contact routes crystal clear, and set the site up properly for search and measurement. Everything also needed to be easy to manage in house, fully compliant, and quick on mobile.
The Solution
We designed and built a clean WordPress site that leads with action. The header carries the three things people come for, new enquiries, WhatsApp, and client login, so visitors can get started at any point. Service pages were rewritten in plain English and grouped by need, first time, moving home, remortgage, buy to let, and protection, with a clear next step on every page. The brand was tightened up with stronger type, a calmer colour palette, and short background videos that add movement without slowing the pages.
Under the hood we put the basics in place for search, sensible titles and descriptions, schema where it helps, a tidy sitemap, and GA4 with events for form sends and WhatsApp clicks. Forms were simplified, confirmations and notifications were added, and thank you pages were set for tracking. We ran an accessibility pass for contrast, labels, and focus states, and we optimised images and caching so the site loads quickly across devices.
The Results
The new site feels modern, reads well, and makes it easy to contact the team from any page. Enquiries now come through clear routes, the video touches bring warmth without getting in the way, and performance on mobile is much improved. Ebor’s team can update content without help, reporting and search tools are in place, and the website now reflects their standing as one of the top mortgage brokers in York.
