From a student side project to a proper studio.
I am Jack Weston, and I started Waywest back in 2013 while I was a New Media student at the University of Leeds. A hobby of sketching logos and building little websites turned into paid work for local shops and start-ups. Word spread, the jobs piled up, and by my final year the side project had become a small studio.
Thirteen years on, we are still here. Same city, same way of working. We are a team of five now, we have worked with hundreds of businesses, and we are rated 5 stars across 220+ reviews online. None of that has changed how we operate: we answer the phone, we reply the same day, and we tell you straight if something will not work.

Jack started Waywest in 2013 and still leads every project day to day, keeping each brief on track from the first call to launch. Off-screen you will find him training or planning his next city break.

Chris shoots our brand and product work and has created content for the likes of Canon, Red Bull, Sony Music and NatWest. He is all about story-driven visuals with a sharp eye for detail.
Chris Lord
Chris handles logos, brand guidelines and visual systems. An award-winning designer named freelancer of the year on a platform of three million creatives, he has been shaping brands for well over a decade.
Meg Hassett
Meg writes words that sound like a person, not a brochure. With a degree in English and Philosophy from Leeds, she shapes each client’s tone of voice. Weekends, she is hiking the Lakes with her dog Honey.
Andrew Ballentine
Andrew brings stories to life through editing, animation and motion graphics. He has worked alongside names like BPerfect and Nico Leonard, and loves the collaborative side of bringing a brand to the screen.

We are at 55 St Paul’s, a few minutes from the Victoria Quarter and a short hop to the tech studios around Leeds Dock. Leeds is where the studio started and where many of our clients still come from, though we also work with businesses across Yorkshire, the UK, the US, Europe and Australia.
It is still our base for a reason. We offer work placements to students from the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett, partner with local print shops and photographers, and pass work to independent freelancers across the city.
