Client Q&A
Here's a list of questions and answers from the client about the project:
Please describe your company and your position there?
We are a classic car hire company based in Yorkshire. We give our customers to opportunity to drive a classic cars, this can be for a couple of hours to a whole weekend. Some customers hire for birthday/gift surprises or for events such as weddings, anniversaries, retirements as well as for film and TV.
For what projects/services did your company hire Waywest Design, and what were your goals?
We were let down by our previous web designer, which left us quite panicked as we still had nothing to show of our new business. I did a lot of research to find someone who would be available to build our website quickly and effectively whilst also maintaining good customer service. Our main points of what we wanted for our website was: Unique (within the industry), easy to navigate, easy to understand and great pictures.
Waywest has not only built our website but has also been incredibly helpful with SEO and advice on how we can manage our social media content. They were really enthusiastic about taking on this project and have definitely delivered a beautiful website!
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I searched online for a new website designer after we were let down by our previous one. After speaking with many different companies, we decided to go with Waywest because we liked their attitude and enthusiasm for the project. We felt like they really listened and understood what we wanted and needed.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We first made contact via a phone call to go through what we wanted for our website. We were open and honest from the start – explaining what happened with our previous web designer – this didn’t phase Waywest and from there we scheduled a video call. After the video call, we were sent some documents to fill out so that Waywest could have in writing what we were wanting our website and logo to look like, what to include and what not to include – just so they could get an even better insight into what we wanted.
Once the documents were completed, we arranged another video call to go through in more detail and they started designing logos. They sent over different logos, we picked one and then focussed on getting that one right. Once that was completed they arranged a photographer to come over to take pictures of our cars and once we were pleased with them, we moved on to creating the website on WordPress.
Over the 4 months, we kept having meetings to discuss things, let them know if we needed things changing, updating, adding. They even taught us how we can update the website ourselves. We are now working on SEO and building our brand on social media, Waywest have helped to create templates for instagram and facebook.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Jack (Founding Director) was the only one we spoke with and worked with> He then got us in touch with a photographer as well.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We are now focussing on SEO and giving it at least 3 months until we review this. However, since launching at the end of Jan, we have has continuous enquiries about our cars which has lead to bookings in the future.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
With the time difference between ourselves and the website designer, we had multiple video meetings where we went into detail about what was done, what was yet to be done and if there was anything outstanding that needed completing asap. Waywest were very patient with us, whilst we went back and forth changing or wanting to rearrange parts of the website. We had a launch date at the end of Jan and we were able to stick to this no problem.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They’ve given us a website that’s professional, informative, and nice to look at. It’s very different to others within the industry so this helps us stand out from the crowd. We really liked how enthusiastic they were about our own input and how we wanted things to look.
